David Watt

David Watt is a chartered building surveyor and historic buildings consultant working in private practice with a specialism in building pathology. He comes originally from Norfolk and his work is predominantly in the East Midlands and East Anglian regions. David is a visiting professor in the Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment at Oxford Brookes University and was previously a senior research fellow at De Montfort University in Leicester.

 With training covering surveying, architectural conservation and conservation science, David’s particular interests relate to the use of traditional building materials and the influence of people and environments on historic buildings and monuments. He lectures to academic and professional audiences, and has written books on surveying and recording historic buildings and on building pathology.
