Over the past two decades, Kate has secured diverse funding sources and driven growth for cultural, creative, and educational institutions. As Senior Development Manager at the University of Nottingham she has successfully brought in 5 & 6 figure gifts and built strategic relationships with corporate partners, international alumni and supported the Faculty of Arts’ and Lakeside’s advancement. A cultural & creative sector development consultant, Kate supports small and medium-sized charitable and not for profit organisations, putting her background in cultural policy & management, and coaching skills to good use.
As Director of Business Development at New Art Exchange, Kate played a pivotal role in securing substantial income, including a successful £4.7 million ERDF bid for the region’s creative industries, resulting in The Big House programme. Prior to this Kate designed and developed the ERDF funded Real Creative Futures programme, for the creative and digital industries in Nottingham, working with a broad range of creative practitioners.
Formerly Design Review Panel Manager, East Midlands, Kate partnered with English Heritage to deliver the Building in Context programme, raising awareness of design practice to complement built heritage. Kate brought together built environment professionals to comment on schemes of regional significance, founding the National Design Review Network to raise standards for review across England in partnership with the Commission for Architecture and the Built environment (CABE).
Kate has long had an interest in the combined role of philanthropists, corporate partners, charities and not for profit organisations in civic life, including as Honorary Secretary for Sheffield Civic Trust, while Studio Manager & Art Commissions Coordinator at Allen Tod Architecture.
