Mac Collins

Mac Collins is a British visual artist from Nottingham, UK. Mac makes sculpture and installation work from materials like wood, welded steel, cast aluminium and cast glass. Mac follows a human-centred approach seeking to observe, and critique, aspects of the society and systems in which he exists. His practice is socially engaged, often building multifaceted investigations that closely interact with communities.
In 2022, Mac presented his solo exhibition, Open Code, at Primary, featuring work created during his residency at the New Art Exchange in 2021. Mac has presented work at institutions like the Denver Art Museum (2024), the Philadelphia Museum of Art (2024), the British Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2023), the Design Museum (2022), and the Victoria and Albert Museum (2022).
Alongside his studio practice, Mac engages in other academic and cultural pursuits. Mac lectures at Northumbria School of Art and Design and has delivered lectures, talks, workshops and events at institutions like the Barbican Centre, UAL Central Saint Martins, the V&A Museum, the Design Museum, South London Gallery and Nottingham Contemporary.
