Christine Stevens

Studio C3

Christine Stevens is Director of Clay Studio Nottingham, an artist-led, experimental clay space. She is also a Gestalt psychotherapist. Her cross-disciplinary practice explores touch as a way of knowing. This sometimes involves joint projects with community groups. Currently she is experimenting with ceramics as part of the lived environment, often incorporating living plants and other natural material. She has also been investigating functional aesthetics, especially in relation to glaze development and surface texture. Although recently restrained by Covid-19, she normally opens her studio on a regular basis for workshops and clay-based events, such as Raku firings, weekly Clay Group and learning to throw sessions.
