ROLE TITLE: Trustee
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS:
Tuesday 2 July, 11pm

Primary is seeking to recruit several trustees, following the completion of the terms of office of three board members. This is an exciting time to join us following the acquisition of our building and significant investment in capital development.

We are looking for people with diverse lived and personal experiences as well as professional expertise to make a difference to our future, seeking applicants with knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Artists with national/international practice and networks

  • Curators, commissioners and producers interested in supporting artist development

  • Financial and commercial management

  • Heritage professionals particularly those with experience of funding to reach conservation goals

  • Marketing and communications particularly in respect of the visual arts

We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented on our Board and in the arts more broadly. We want to expand the voices that inform our decision-making and to be reflective of the communities we serve.

We encourage people to apply who are underrepresented in the visual arts sector, including individuals of the global majority, those who are disabled, D/Deaf, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ or facing intersecting cultural or socio-economic barriers.

Access: Please note that Primary is based in a Victorian School building. We have recently undergone capital refurbishment works that have made the ground floor of our building more accessible, improvements include a new level-access entrance and installation of an accessible toilet.

Our first-floor spaces are only accessible by stairs. We support reasonable adjustments and will work with candidates to meet the demands of the role, making adaptations as necessary.

If you require information in a different format or have any questions regarding accessibility – in relation to the EOI process or the role – please contact admin@weareprimary.org.
