Reactor
Studio A2
Reactor is an art collective, currently made up of two core members - Susie Henderson and Niki Russell - and an undisclosed number of secret members. The group expands and contracts from project to project through the inclusion of collaborating artists and audience members, with each situation producing a project-specific group with its own identity.
Through ongoing research into belief systems and their place in collective action, Reactor explores the ways in which these common principles hold together specific social groups. Each project – from a utopic community in a small rural Scottish village, to a Big Lizard Fun Bus touring cities across Europe – creates a different social microcosm with its own internal symbols, logic and meanings.
Recent and forthcoming projects include: Ivan Poe, online, Kunstraum, London (2020), Southwark Park Galleries, London (2019), Quad, Derby (2019) and Hexham Arts Centre (2019); The Gold Ones, Bonington Gallery, Nottingham (2021), Radar, Loughborough (2016), Plymouth Art Weekender (2016), Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo (2016), Gallery North, Newcastle (2016), and xero, kline & coma, London (2015); Log!c ?stem, Flux Factory, New York (2013); and Dummy Button, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2013).
