Small Food Bakery

The Bakery

Small Food Bakery is a sourdough bakery, kitchen and grocery store, trading directly with farmers and selling directly to our customers.  

They don’t use non-food or industrial ingredients, and take care to be thoughtful, responsible, and equitable in the way they work in regard to people and the environment. 

The bakery and its bakers, farmers, and customers are part of a global movement to build a new, localised food economy to replace the current, damaging extractive model.

The bakery is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays.

Small Food Bakery hosts the biannual UK Grain Lab conference, bringing bakers, cooks, farmers, millers, activists, scientists, and storytellers together to help build a new grain economy for the UK. The conference attracts visitors from all over the world.

Founder Kimberley Bell speaks regularly at conferences about small food and their work towards food sovereignty.
