Apple Day: From Picking to Pressing at FarmEco

Join us for a visit to FarmEco community farm in Screveton - we'll provide minibus transport from Primary to get to the farm and back.

Meet at Primary at 10am, return by 1.30-2pm. Limited places, booking essential - book here.

At the farm, we'll take a short nature walk and be introduced to the agroforest where the apples are grown. We'll then follow the full process of picking to pressing delicious fresh apple juice - using a traditional press. Everyone will get a bottle of juice to take away.

All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact rebecca@weareprimary.org with any questions or access needs.

Farmeco Community Care Farm seeks to reconnect people with the land, the food that land produces and the environment. Farmeco established an edible woodland of 4500 fruit and nut trees in 2017. This natural, outdoor environment enables the delivery of practical land based activities that aim to significantly improve the lives of individuals and local communities. They provide a shared outdoor space for people to develop a greater understanding of farming and the environment, cultivate new skills, take exercise and make friends.

This event is part of Nourishment: A Cyclical Programme at Primary, a long-term programme that delves into food justice, nourishment, growing and sustainable food systems.
