City Dispatch: Köln/Düsseldorf with Dennis Hochköppeler

Travel virtually to the Rhineland with Dennis Hochköppeler. During this dispatch Dennis will talk about the artistic history of Köln and Düsseldorf, key institutions, artists, and current cultural dialogues, along with some insider tips about unique experiences and opportunities for emerging artists.

Dennis Hochköppeler was born in 1985 in Mönchengladbach, Germany. While studying art history and German language and literature at the University of Cologne, he founded Galerie Drei in Cologne in 2013 with Jakob Pürling. The gallery currently represents eight artists from Europe and the United States, shows around five exhibitions a year in its Cologne gallery space and is regularly present at international fairs. In April 2021 they will launch a one-year exhibition project in Mönchengladbach in April 2021 where they will occupy an exhibition space on a timeshare basis with the Düsseldorf gallery Markus Lüttgen.

This event has been organised by Spike Island for the Kaleidoscope Network, a collaboration between Eastside Projects (Birmingham), Primary (Nottingham), Spike Island (Bristol), and The NewBridge Project (Newcastle).
