Oneiric Kitchen is a collaborative project by artist-filmmaker Chiemi Shimada and wellbeing practitioner Susie Cunningham. This workshop is for participants interested in exploring their sleep experiences. We are keen to connect with participants who have experience of sleep conditions.
The project delves into our relationship with sleep and addresses issues surrounding it. Developed through a series of therapeutic cooking workshops in the UK and Japan, Chiemi and Susie aim to create a safe space for participants to reflect on their sleep experiences. Oneiric Kitchen will culminate in a film of the same name featuring conversations with participants.
During the session lunch and rest breaks will be included.
The workshop:
Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their relationship with sleep. The group will cook together during the session, whilst considering what impacts on our energy levels, e.g., nutrition, sleep, down-time.
The workshop will be filmed for documentation, so participants need to be comfortable on camera. Consent forms will be shared to be reviewed and signed by participants at the beginning of the session.
Please bring your own aprons if you have one, and we will provide some for those who don’t.
