Job Opportunity | Programme Assistant (Kickstart Scheme)
25 hours per week for 6 months
Usual working days will be (Monday - Wednesday), 10am-6pm - with some flexibility to assist with events taking place during evenings and weekends.

We are currently recruiting for a Programme Assistant through the Government Kickstart Scheme. To be eligible for a Kickstart role you must be 16-24 years-old and registered unemployed, be receiving Universal Credit and referred to one of the roles below by your JobCentre Plus advisor or Work Coach.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person with good people skills and a friendly demeanour and an interest in contemporary art. Supporting the Primary team three days per week, this placement presents a great opportunity to gain hands on experience working with a leading artist-run space that delivers an ambitious art programme.
This role will allow you to gain experience across different areas of the organisation and on partnership projects, including general administration; assisting with public events, online and in person; front-of-house and welcoming visitors; working directly with artists to support creative projects; supporting artists’ residencies and exhibitions; marketing and social media; and supporting on the delivery of the New Midland Group Development Programme.
Skills Required:
Good people skills with a friendly demeanour.
Computer literacy, familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge of social media.
Promptness and good organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and at times in a self-directed manner.
Willingness and availability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
During usual working days the Programme Assistant will be based at Primary, with some home working and adhering to government guidelines in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Some events might take place offsite.
