Work in Common | Amir George: Contorting Metaphysical Hijinks

Contorting Metaphysical Hijinks is a short film program featuring the films of Amir George. Through his short films Amir navigates the complexities of life while allowing himself to move within, through, and around structuring narratives of power, love, joy, trauma and self, thereby negotiating how he understands the multi-dimensionality of being. The program is an amalgamation of spiritual stories juxtaposing sound and image with anon linear perception. Fragmented vignettes that conjure the secret life of objects both found and collected that reside in a world within a world. Amir’s recent work pulls from a myriad of archives that allow him to reconfigure sounds and images through ontological pathways.

This screening by Amir George follows on from two events at Nottingham Contemporary, the Finding Fanon Trilogy on the 16 August, 6.30-8.30pm, and Radically Imagining an Archive on the 17 August, 2-4pm.
